antifreeze

ready to mix up antifreeze and water for my John Deere R tractor should I use distilled water or is city water ok to use? also going to use antifreeze for all makes and models (ford, chevy...) the aitifreeze I had in there before was starting to eat through the radiator it was NAPA diesel antifreeze first time I used it thought diesel motor diesel antifreeze not good hopefuly sealer will stop the leakage anyone have any advise before I mix up 14 gallons of anifreeze? thanks Howard

Definitely as pure water (less minerals) as you can get. I use "steam" distilled water from the grocery store. I hope it really is!

I should admit this aloud in this crowd, but I have always used hose water when I mix it. I do everything 50/50 and use test strips every year to see what needs additive put in it. I haven't ever had any issues, but I'm sure at some point there will be some issue.

I would use at least softened water if I didn't use distilled. the minerals are what will do the damage.
