chunk to big to lift just lower splitter down to the ground

Looks good to me. All of our big logs get made into boards, and then I just have to split some of the slabs that are too big to go through the boiler door. The tops I mostly don't have to split. Any splitting I do gets done by hand, but your way looks easier.

I just tilt this one up for the big chunks. I actually prefer to split with it vertical for all size pieces.

Homemade splitter with HF pickup truck hoist, replaced the hand pump jack with a small hydraulic cylinder from surplus center plugged into tractor svc. Add a HF electric winch and some antique log tongs. The pump runs off the front crankshaft pulley allowing the tractor to run a just above an idle.
