Fifty years ago today, my wife and I were married.

Doesn't seem that long. Guess time flies when you're having fun.

We went out to a Texas Roadhouse this evening to have a steak to celebrate. Seemed like a long time for our order to come. Then an Assistant Manager appeared, said there was a mixup in the kitchen, our order was delayed, and there would be no charge. In conversation, my wife mentioned it was our 50th anniversary and the Asst. Mgr. congratulated us. Before we left, our waitress appeared and presented us with a $30 gift certificate, compliments of the Manager.

Guess there still are places that take customer service seriously.

Congratulations on 50 years! Not many younguns will ever stay together that long. We made 51 this year....not all easy by any means, but still made it. Where are you in TX, we are in Dallas vicinity.
 
Congratulations, and wishing you many more! As someone said, it isn't easy, but it sure gives you a great feeling of accomplishment.
 
Actually, Lincoln, Nebraska. Texas Roadhouse is a chain of steak houses.

BTW, after all the freebies, I did leave a rather generous tip.

You have accomplished something that is very rare today. We need many more couples in our society that are dedicated to lasting relationships. I hope that you have many more anniversaries to celebrate together.

It really does feel like we've accomplished something. And not a day goes by that we don't both thank the Lord for blessing us with enduring health and cognitive abilities.

Well, I guess Congratulations are in order !! both of you have got a lot to be thankful for! I lost my wife at 52 years, Not a fun thing to go on,but keep the faith and enjoy many more years together.......Jim in N.M.
