Allis Chalmers WD plow problem

I am brand new to farming and just recently bought a 1953 WD and Dearborn 10-158 two bottom plow. I hooked the plow into the 3 point hitch. The plow will not lift completely off the ground. There is a bucket on the front of the tractor as well. Any help, hints, or tips are greatly appreciated!

i know on my international there is a control valve that switches the fluid from the 3pt hitch to the loader. if this control valve is in the position to run the loader, the 3 pt hitch will not lift... and vice versa.
maybe yours has a similar setup?

Would be good if you could post a picture...

I am not familiar with your Dearborn plow and we have no idea what 3-point you have on your WD..

Actually, I cannot see how you could have a 2 bottom 3-point plow on that tractor and get the rear wheels set narrow enough to use it..

Are you sure you have the Lift Arms turned correctly where they attach at the lower end, at the plow..?
That would make A Large difference in lifting height..

One more thing that may aggravate your problem may be if you have 13.6x28 rear tires..they are a lot smaller than what I call "Proper" on a WD or WD-45..14.9x28 matches the tractor better, as far and size and traction is concerned..
I know, the WD came with 12x28, BUT, 13.6x28 just LOOKS Smaller than 12x28..
14.9 x28 is the same size as the old 13x28 ... Optional on the WD and standard on the WD-45..

Try posting a couple pictures, so we can see what is going on...!!

You will need to shut the oil flow to the bucket off otherwise the loader will lift all the way tot he top. Any chance for some pictures right side up?

I was raised on ih don't know much about allis
chalmers but that plow does not properly fit the
tractor. It's not center to the hitch and the front
moldboard is not lined up with the right rear tractor
tire. The plow is not going to pull straight and the
tire is not going to run in the furrow. In the 50s
when your tractor was built implements, especially
mounted plows were proprietary. AC used a hitch
device called a snap coupler that worked along with
the lift harms. Seek out a neighbor who is familiar
with AC equipment to help you. BTW the WD45 is
a very good tractor.
