Troy-bilts new power system.

I saw an ad the other night for Troy-bilts latest and greatest idea. An engine unit with various attachments. That way you only have one engine to maintain. Well this is such a good idea Toro did just that some 50 ? years ago !!! Called the Toro power handle. Dad still has a couple with several attachments.
I guess everything old is new again ?

Yep and Gravely came out with it in like 1928. The model "L" is the real deal and I don't have time this morning to do the research but this is close. Had something like almost 40 different things you could bolt on. Everything goes in a circle and gets reinvented somehow.

I think maybe Gravely was king of the "one motor" idea. They made just about everything you'd ever need for the homestead.

They only need to add power steering for tweaking the travel without jerking the handles, especially on turn around corners.
Probably should add a radio with Blue tooth connected hearing protectors.Snap on duals for soft ground. Maybe GPS guidance option? And maybe a stowable sunshade/umbrella for us older folks who are not to get too much sun. IaLeo

Dad bought a new Toro Power Handel in 1953 that had a 'reel' mower with it. It was a bear to hang onto the handle. No flexing at all.

Solo - the chainsaw company, had the Multimot system ( water pump, lawn mower, 2 kinds of string trimmers & chainsaw. Stihl had the O8S powerhead for the ice borer, posthole digger, metal cutting cut-off saw, chainsaw & brushcutter. The 020AV also had attachments. None of the multiple application ideas ever lasted long.
