Another growing season comes to an end

The wifey and I have been working in the garden for the last 3 days. Pulled all the mator plants, dug the spuds, pulled all the remenets of the cabage, peppers, broccoli, and squash plants, and cut all the corn stalks. All and all the garden did very well. Our pantry and freezer are full and bulging. The onions, peppers and hubbard squash didn't do real well, but the rest of our vegi crops made up for them.
Took these pics Tue. and today. The leaves on the trees are about gone this afternoon. Yesterday was rainy and breezy and took most of them off the trees.
We are only supposed to make it to the low 40s Sunday, and temps dropping into 20s during overnights, next week, along with posible snow in higher elevations. Winter is coming!!!

I always enjoy your pictures. Thanks. The Case pictures and all your inventions are always great. You do such a nice job. We had Massey Harris and Allis Chalmers tractors on the farm when I was young. The neighbor had a what I think was a 930 or 1030 with the wide western fenders. I got to drive it once in a while when I helped him. I thought it was a nice tractor. It had a shift on the go hi-lo on the dash. I don't recall what Case called that feature. Thanks. Paul.

A Case guy, man are you efficient! I have the upmost respect for people like your wife and you. I still get somekind of feeling that drives me to do what I feel is necessary to prepare for winter. That came from my Dad/Mother back in the 30's/40's. All the stuff that was "put up" was not done for fun; it was an economical necessity. Great job!

Den, The arial pics were taken from the roof of the wood/tractor shed on the north side of my shop. My son has a drone, with vidio capabilities, but he hasn't found time to take pics here yet. He is busy bow hunting every spare moment now.

That would have made it a 7 or 830 with case-o-matic. That wasn't available on the 9 or 1030. They were very nice tractors.

Paul, The Case tractor that you remember was no larger than an 830. The Case-O-Matic trans was not offered in 9/1030 tractors. I sure wish it was!!! Any ways, those tractors had a torque converter splined to the engine flywheel and had a hydraulic clutch pack to lock up the converter. The lever on the dash manually controled the lockup in the converter. The tractor always started moveing in converter drive when you released the inching pedal, and once you were moveing by throttleing up you would shift the dash lever to Direct Drive. When the motor drew down from a heavy load, you would move the lever to Converter drive to pull the load through. The converter multiplied the torque to the wheels by 3.14 before it would stall. It was a great system, which became the norm in construction equipment less the direct drive lockup.

The VAWT is a Mariah Windspire. The Nevada based company did everything wright, but were plagued with inverter problems, and installations in poor locations by novis installers.
They were a 1.2K unit at 400rpm. and delivered 120AC power to your fuse panal, and required a net meter for your elecric servuce entrance. During a power outage you needed to disconect from your power company and run off a batt pack with inverter system.
The company eventually went bankrupt. No parts or service. The third inverter failed in this one and it is no longer functioning.

Nice pictures as always! Fall colors look the same as they do in cental michigan. I don't think you'll go hungry this winter, always a good feeling with full shelves. What kind of tree is that in front of the sugar bush that is still green? Doesn't it know its fall! HEHE

That tree is a Tamirack. My grandfather planted 3 of them by the sap house. After several hard frosts they will turn yellow and the needles will fall off. Very unique trees.
