The flag again.

I got a kick out of the flag post earlier, I got out my Boy Scout handbook and read about the flag. I was pretty surprised, it said the flag should be flown on Mother's Day, but made no reference to Father's Day? I thought that was strange, but it also explaines alot! Any else know this?

How old is your Boy Scout book? Father's Day was not a national holiday until 1972

Nope, made up holiday to sell more greeting cards. If people really wanted to honor Dad they'd skip the card and bend over and help him with his work.

It is a made up holiday but the woman that made it up did not want any gifts or cards involved . Then Hallmark got ahold of it.

Maybe not National, but I remember buying gifts foo my Dad as far back as 1954. Any others remember?
