Kinda. We used to live nearby. My wife is from the area and we visit a lot. Now we're about and hour and a half west southwest.

It is really nice to see a live show and you will always remember. The only bug is if he has a crappy guest performer! Go for it.

If you get a chance, go. He did a show in Mankato, MN in August, and it was outstanding. Everyone there had a great time. He is retiring at the top of his game. I hope he finds some way to do specials on occasion.

We've been to the summer tour twice,both times in East Lansing Mi. Last time was July 30th. Tickets were 35,50 and 70. I sprung for the 50s.
If the show in Bemidji isn't any better than last night's show with the three guest hosts,I wouldn't waste my money. I didn't even finish listening to the whole show and that's a first.

It's a 2 hour weekly radio show on NPR. Has musical guests, usually folk/bluegrass/country types. Lots of funny skits and jokes. Hosted since 1974 by writer Garrison Keillor. Bemidji is a small city in north central Minnesota.

By all means GO!! Garrison will be retiring ( for real this time, he kinda retired about 15 year ago and moved to Denmark, but came back after about a year). His show is very eclectic, with a mix of guests from bluegrass, pop, to high opera. His humor is geared toward someone living in a small town in the upper mid-west, but most working folks should be able to relate. I have been listening to him since early '80's. My brothers and sister all tune in, though we were scattered from Virginia, Arizona, Vermont and Oregon. We could all talk about the latest PHC show. Funny how some folks don't like him, though they all have nostalgia for the old time radio shows. PHC is the only program keeping that tradition alive. Garrison and I are the same age, I have been retired for 8 years, and I can't deny him that privilege, though I will sorely miss him.
