Brother and SIL had to go to court today and the judge signed the paper work to finish the adoption of the three kids they were fostering! The kids were our cousins', they were taken from him since he and his wife got onto drugs real bad. 2 girls and a boy, the boy they fostered from birth, he is a little over 2 now, and the girls they took in a little over a year ago! My brother and SIL were trying to have there own children for years after they married, they married 9/19/97, but never could, so this is a real blessing for them and a good anniversary gift!

It's good of them but I know a couple that tried for a long time adopted one and then wouldn't you know they had 2 after that . Good luck and and god bless

It seem to happen quite often that a woman becomes pregnant shortly after adopting.

Just hope the kids biological parents stay in jail, or die. Otherwise they will show up mooching for drug money and in general trying to cause problems.

I agree they don't need trouble from them. They had their chance to be good parents and blew it,even if they are some relation.

I have a neighbor that has gone through the same thing, and they finally had to get court orders to keep biological parents away. The adopted children have decided I make a good Grandpa.

Good to hear, and I know it's a relief for all involved.

We're currently waiting on our lawyer to get the adoption completed for our daughter, after nearly 7 years fighting to get her biological father's rights terminated, and get him out of the picture. Just getting him gone after the hell he and his wife put our daughter, and us, through was a relief, and cause for celebration. Getting the adoption complete will be an even greater call for celebration.

One of my high school classmates is 61 like me. He had a younger brother who was into drugs and such, and this brother had a daughter. My friend's brother straightened up his life, and was back on the straight and sober path when he died from a sudden heart attack.

His daughter--her name was Samantha, and she's the same age as my daughter, who called her "Satan"-- had two kids out of wedlock and decided she didn't want to be bothered with raising them. So my friend and his wife went to court, and he adopted his brother's grandkids. The kids are in grade school now, but my friend's worried that, with heart problems in the family--he had his own heart attack about 10 years ago--he may not live to see them raised.

But what else do you do with your family, other than the best you can?

Hats off to them !So many kids out there deserving a good home . Next week it will be ten years since we adopted our four girls, all sisters . We had two of them when we did foster care . Hated all the hoops dealing with bio parents, they had so many chance to get squared away but failed. Girls are 15,13,12 and 11. Ups and downs, they carry lot of baggage from parents drug use, but wouldnt change it for the world !

Amazing how slow the system works. The boy was lucky he had a permanent home to go to. While lots of people go into fostering looking to adopt many won't take a baby unless they KNOW the infant won't be going back. Our youngest came to us when he was 3 months old and we were told he was in "Police protective custody" and needed a place for 3 days. That was 4 years ago, we adopted him when he was 3 years old. His mom could have made the process even longer but she managed to get herself imprisoned a couple states away and she finally gave up on making life hard for him.

I'm really happy for them and the kids. 2011 I bought a foreclose house that was set up for frosting kids. Ten full bedrooms. 5 full bathrooms. I was single.
Today, I have been married for a year and wife and I were talking about doing the same since we have room but, I just don't know if I can do it. I'm 61 and am trying to figure out how to retire. I just don't know if I have the patients anymore.
