Has anyone else still not gotten their Federal Tax Return this year for 2014?

We haven't gotten ours yet! Some one else filed under my SS# but didn't get the refund.

I was just curious if any of you are in the same boat as I am. I verified my identity way back the end of March. Not sure what's taking so long..

This is the reason I don't understand anyone over paying their taxes. I would much rather pay the balance in April as depend on the IRS to send back the over payment. That's like putting extra chickens in the hen house and expecting the fox to give back what he doesn't need.

I keep getting a bill for the taxes I paid on April 13th.

I sent the check in then and they cashed it!

Twice they have sent me a bill for the amount I paid plus fees.

My wife was on hold for an hour last night, again, trying to straighten it out. It was supposedly straighten out when we got the first bill in June. One hand doesn't know what the other is doing. No surprise.

I would take the info they sent and along with the cancelled check to their office in person rather wait on phone talking to someone when they have no proof that it was paid.

When you say "Tax Return" I assume that you mean refund.

Considering that another fraudlently filed for a refund using your SSN, it could take considerably longer. You would, no doubt, be astonished to learn just how slowly things can move at the IRS.

Of course, you can always call the toll free customer support number and wait on hold for an hour or hour and a half....

Between two state returns and the federal, I might get $100.00 back. That is close enough for me.

At least the bill is paid and you do not have to come up with money that you cannot do, it is easier to let them take a bit more than needed if everything is calculated correctly than to come up with possibly a few thousands if not figured correct. Even if you do not ever get it back it is still easier on you than trying to find money to borrow at time it has to be paid and no one will loan you the money. To many years when only income was farming had to struggle with that. After wife started working and taxes were with held that stress was over. Just think about that money if you do not get it back the same way as if your car is destroyed and you loose everything you have in it and have to go out and buy a different one with no money to do that. If you try that perhaps you will feel better. But if you are one of the few that has plenty of money you do not know what to do fith it then you will not understand but if you are one living just day to day then you should understand that having it totally paid when it is due is better than having to pay and cannot and being threatened with jail if you don't get it paid.
