Compost Question

I want to spread several tons of rotted down wood chips on some of the high ground to add organic material to the soil, however I do not have a way to put it on the fields, and not sure if a manure spreader would work or not. Any advice or suggestions as to how to get this stuff distributed, I would much appreciate. I do have tractors. Thanks.

The stuff has been pushed into a huge pile, and rotted down to like black dirt. Just not sure what would work as far as getting this stuff distributed.....

Any decent manure spreader will handle it, wet or dry. Beaters will tear up packed pen manure, compost should be easy.

I agree that a manure spreader should work well. Just start with small load to insure that you are good.

....and don't get too greedy if it is heavy....apron chains tend to break with a full load :)
