MH44 Valve timing

Someone posted the valve timing on the MH44 about a month ago for me, I have forgotten.

Could you re-post?

Sure. From the MH service data book, for valve timing check only set intake rocker .0145 inch, exhaust .021 Intake opens 0 BTDC, closes 35 degrees ABDC. Exhaust opens 40 degrees BBDC, closes 0 ATDC. When finished reset all valve to .014 hot. 5 degrees plus or minus indicates timing is correct, 12 degrees either way means cam is one tooth off.

Is there a suggested time to inject or is it trial and error? I've never dabbled with aftermarket injection.

It will be trial and error, I can pick the time and add an advance curve if needed. I intend to start at the opening of the intake valve and go from there. I have calculated that I have to inject close and get ready for next cylinder in 16ms. I did this experimentally, and will use the data from Diesel Tech to confirm.

That lines up with what I remember, the intakes are open for 105 crankshaft degrees, there is 15 degrees of overlap between the intake valves on the siamese pairs.
