Thanks and another question

Thanks for the comments on my pepper questions the other day. Now a man talked me to a new kind of cherry tomatoes last spring. It is my best looking tomato plant out of about 30 plants, the question is when are they ripe? They are purple in color?

Hmmm, a miniature version of Cherokee purple? If the plants are old enough for the tomatoes to be mature, then, as suggested, try the taste test. Or, as time passes, they may change to a slightly different color as they ripen. I have never heard of a cherry tomatoe that is purple before it is ripe, what is the name of these things?

and what's the problem. Like any other tomato when mostly colored(no or faint green) its ripe. Purple might sound odd but there too(like peppers) different type can be different color.

I would say if they are purple that they must be ripe. It seems that from the name.

With that kind of color, I would say it is ripe. Taste test will tell for sure. I suspect that it started out green? I have some that are also hard to tell if they are ripe. They are called Green Zebra. They start out green, and when they get ripe, they begin to have a bit of a yellowish cast to them. They taste just like the red ones.
