we use gravely's to do a lot of our mowing in weird places . Any way to make a sicklebar mower form a windrow? We have a homemade chute on the rotary head but use the sicklebar on thicker stuff. after windrowing we pick up with a rake on a skidsteer. Open to ideas

Have used a device cslled a swather behind a sicklebar mower. Device consisted of a series of metal straps approximately an inch wide and six inch spacing, dragged behind sickle bar. Strips were differing lengths, tapering toward one side. Ends were bent upwards, and as hay fell on apparatus and was dragged backard it rolled toward the side snd kind of windrowed. Worked fairly well.

We had one of those years ago. I seem to remember that the greener and heavier the hay was the better it worked.

Dad used to have one on the mower for our C we used to windrow oats .
