Redneck landscaping

The boss wanted a concrete seat next to her trailer art in old gravel pit. The T5D did all the lifting.

Terramites are nice little pieces of equipment. Nice little 4' loader bucket, nice little backhoe that goes down about 5'. I used to rent one from a hardware before it got put out of business by the big box stores. When they auctioned everything off, I thought about going and bidding on it. Once and a while I look at Ebay. First time I used one, I was going to rent the Mustang version of a skidster, but they talked me into the Terramite. Glad they did.

I like your "thumb" George. Did you make that?

By the way - Redneck landscaping HAS to involve a used tractor tire.

That looks pretty artsy, not redneck. Redneck would be a seat out of a van or a 55 gal drum on it's side

I have two terramites. The T5C was my first and recently got a T5D.
I think the max depth is 8'4".

My T5C has a 48 inch front and 12 in rear bucket.
My T5D came with a 56 inch front and two rear buckets, 12 and 18 inch.

They are made in the USA, Charleston, Va.
OEM is a 20 hp kohler command.
The previously owners replaced the engine on the T5D with a 20 hp Honda. I'm sold on the Honda.

Pound for pound, there is nothing like it. They are very strong. The front bucket is strong enough to lift the rear wheels off the ground.

Not to mention very handy with adding front forks.

Yes, I made it from scrap metal, very simple design. No need for adding a hydraulic cylinder. Just curl back bucket. Attached with 4 long bolts gripping back boom. Works great for moving logs too. If log is too big, it raises the front wheels off ground, so better have another log on front forks.

All is well after 3 flushes. No damages. Had one cylinder start leaking. I rebuilt it. The rod had many nicks and scrapes put there by previous owner. Took a while sanding them out. Works great. If a backhoe isn't leaking oil someplace, just wait, it will sooner or later. It has 12 cylinders, control valves, many hoses, pump, torque motor, tranmission. Small price to pay for having a handy tractor. I cover the ends of my cylinders to keep dirt out and as a leak detector. Rag gets wet, it must be leaking.

I told the boss I wasn't painting the rust. She was OK with it. BTW, the rust is part of a mobile home frame someone left in the gravel pit. Most of the frame has been used on other projects. Everything gets used.

7 inch channel. They were used as stringers for metal steps. I can't bend them. I can bend 4 inch channel.

They slip over the front lip, fork go under the bucket and a bolt holds them from falling off. I have holes in bucket to place them in different places.

I have a 3 pt attachment for front forks on my T5C to use landscape rake, works sweet. Forks can add down pressure which my Jubilee can't.

Looks very nice, but sorry it's not red-neck. It's folk art. You didn't use cherry bombs.
