John Deere M Plugs

Anyone have a preference as to what plugs run in an M? Had autolight 219's in it, but I don't think those were "factory correct". Not really concerned about OEM, just want some good, trusted plugs. I am leaning towards some champions right now... What do you guys think?

This is not an answer to your question but was going through some old Farm Collector magazine's and found an article...very cool! As to the plugs I have used both and really do not notice a difference BUT I am sure many have an opinion LOL

I have used those autolite 219 in mine with good results. It is a direct cross from the factory number.

Bryce, I gave up on Champion in my 2 cylinders years ago. Go with a hot Autolite and you will be better off. Sometimes new Champions would quit in my JD A within an hour. Changed to Autolite and they just kept going.

We use either Autolite <a href="http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/ATO1/216/N2253.oap?ck=Search_N2253_-1_-1&pt=N2253&ppt=C1979">216</a> or <a href="http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/ATO1/437/N2249.oap?ck=Search_N2249_-1_-1&pt=N2249&ppt=C1978">437</a> in our M, MTs, and 40s.

Hope this helps.

like James, I use the Autolite 437's (they work well in my Fords too)
My little Deeres are just "I like em"...light duty tractors.
If I was going to work them really hard I might throw the 216's in.

Well, called Auto Mouse, and they had 4 216's, no 219's, and ONE 4 437.

So, I bought 4 216's... I will give them a try! I plan on doing a little plowing and discing with this squirt once I get it fixed up a little.. NEED to figure out what in the world is broke/wore out in the steering.

Needed to change my shorts after trying it in road gear this morning. . . . . . . . . .

Probably a worn out worm gear if there is a lot of "play" in the steering. Take the front radiator shroud off to access it.
