In my opinion, hooking two vehicles, be it tractors, trucks, or whatever, end-to-end to see which one can outpull the other is never a demonstration of common sense. To do this with two tractors with elevated hitches is just plain stupid (again, just my 2 cents).

Everyone of them deserves what they get for doing that, even the spectators, the utter stupidity and ignorance is so impressive, its beyond comprehension.

thats slightly more sane then those tug a wars its sorta mud racing but slower

I'm still speachless over the total lack of saftey from everyone involved in the tractor tugs
outta ten clips I think there was only 3 rops in use but I didn't count
in one there were people hanging off tractors for weight and it looked like one fell off and got
run over
won't get into how many flipped over on the drivers or bounced their way through the spectators
I respect their right to do things their way but common sense should prevail a little bit towards
saftey

What gets me is in nearly every one of them, after the tractor flips over... the other guy just keeps on pulling... The finish line is more important than the guy under the tractor. The whole affair is dumb enough as far as I'm concerned but the absolute lack of respect for life of any kind is really the icing on the cake.

I wondered if anyone would comment as you did on the high hitch points. Looks like they're hooked up at axle height like they WANT the results they're getting. Dumb is hardly the word.

For those who have never been to a nnalert country let me help explain a couple things. They do not think exactly the way we do here, or any 1st world county. One of their favorite saying is "If God wills it" "Allah Asaliam"(sp). Basically this means that they will survive if god wills it. Having shared the road in these countries for 2 years with this mentality and seeing dozens of deaths because of it you wonder how they survive at all. In some countries if you witness an accident you cannot render aid to somebody that is injured for an hour as that is gods time. In that hour you can only watch and wait to see if they live, according to them it is god's will if they die. After an hour if they are still alive you can render aid as it is gods will for them to live. I have also seen entire multigenerational families out harvesting 10+ acres of wheat with corn knives making shucks and stacking and hand threshing it. The majority of people in this country have no idea how easy or good they have it. Even the poor in 1st world countries tend to live much better than the average citizen of a 3rd world country. They are severely under educated and to us seem like children that have little or no self restraint. It is a totally different world. One where someone is supposed to be your ally will shoot you because of a perceived slight or disrespect. One of the reasons so many of our soldiers have been shot by our supposed "friends" that we are training. I have seen villagers' stone someone because of it. The world is a large and crazy place. I am glad I am back home and have no intention of ever leaving again.

Actually the "poor" in this country tend to live better than the working class in other "1st world" countries. The average poor person in the US has a larger living space, more TVs, and more electronic devices than the average working person in the UK. The average person in the UK usually does NOT have central A/C or a car while the "poor" in the US usually have both.

Agreed. It looks like they were using the base of the 3 point arm as the hooking point. I guess that's how they get the crowd pleasing wheel stands.

Sad thing is that "home" is now being saturated with people from nnalert countries for various reasons.

Sure hope this reply doesn't "offend" any one of them.

Concerning the high hitch points: Many European tractors have a very high hitch point possibly called a "truck hitch" located far above the PTO. Don't know if any modern tractors have this. You can find several You Tube videos showing a modern baler (round or large squares) being pulled by a tractor (probably no more than 20 years old) and using this "truck hitch". So the balers are either made or modified for this type of hitch. Maybe pulling a plow is done with the three-point hitch and pulling wagons is done with the "truck hitch".
