tire/rim difference

I currently have 14.9-28 tires on 10" rims on my super 55. One tire and rim combo needs to be replaced. I plan on buying a 12" rim to use with the new 14.9 tire. Will this tire be noticeably different in height than the one on the other side? Will the 2" difference in rim width be a problem on the tractor?

Yes, and unfortunately it can be difficult to find 13" rims in some styles. I have a fairly modern (NH TT60A) tractor here, with 14.9x28 tires, on 12" rims, right from the factory! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

are you replacing 1 or 2 tires? as stated with clearance the rim should be no problem new tire may be taller than the old 1

The side of my 14.9 tires say "on 12" rims". I think 14.9 used to be 13 point something tires which would be mounted on 12" rims.

It may be repairable but then I will have the 14.9 tire on a 10" rim, which is not correct. I can get a new rim for $112.00 so that's not too bad.

14.9 is 13 inches at the rim, intended to mount on 13 inch rims. You can safely go an inch wider or narrower than the rim, using old size marking on tires. 13.6 would be for a 12 inch rim.

When one the 9" rims went bad on my 8n, I replaced it with a 10" rim. Left the other side alone. You have to really look close from behind to see the difference. No difference at all in the height of the tractor.
