Trailer wiring

I need to rewire my trailer and have no idea where my wiring diagram is for the 7 wire plug. Could somebody post it. Thanks. While I am reworking trailer with a new floor I am putting on new lights and as it has a hitch on back and is legal here to tow 2 trailers I want to put a plug on the back for second trailer.

Google is your friend.

In short 2nd trailor is not allowed if front is a "bumper" pull. If front is 5th wheel or goose hitch second is allowed (in Indiana). I had a friend that pulled a bass boat behind his camper. He got stopped and had to drop one then return for the other. Cop told him he would check durning his shift and if not enough time lasped for the trip home and back he would get a tickett in the mail. joe

Ohio does not make a difference. And did Indiana change the law in last 15 years? I pulled tandam several times from Ohio to Ill. and lots of patrol did not give a second look.

If the plug you're using is from a semi it is labled which color goes where on the back where the wires go. Now if you are not matching the colors you will need an Ohm's meter. Top is white then black and brown the yellow and green then red. The blue goes in the center.

Just a standard RV Utility trailer plug. The new trailers come with the same 7 wire unit as the Travel trailers and none are gooseneck. In Ohio was told by patrolman just as long as you are not over 65 ft long any combination is OK.

Lots of different rules across the country. In Mn, to pull doubles, the lead trailer must have fifth wheel-kingpin type hitch. Doesn't need safety chains.
What is commonly called "gooseneck" ball-coupler doesn't qualify, needs safety chains.
It is the type of hitch, not location, that matters. I have seen fifth wheel hitches mounted low at rear of truck frame, with pin on straight frame trailer.

Just remember that there are TWO standards for this plug, and make sure yours all match.
