My next question is the three point hitch will not lift. I assume it's low on fluid because the hydraulic pump leaks. What type of fluid does it take and where does it go. This is the first tractor I've ever owned. Any help would be appreciated.
 
Hi, these older tractors used 20W or 30W NON-detergent oil. If you are not in a cold climate 30W would be good. It maybe difficult
to get non-detergent oil now. Detergent oil will foam in a hydraulic system. Also clean the suction filter in the hydraulic
reservoir.

Thanks for the information. .we can pick up non-detergent oil at TSC..do you know which hole it would go into?? Where would the pick up filter be and what is it?
 
Hi, see photo from caseih.com parts item #8 goes into hydraulic reservoir by front of the seat on bottom right just above top of
transmission case.
The hydraulic reservoir fill plug should be on top of housing behind the seat.

This photo is from B-275 but I believe B-260 is the same.
