Scrambled eggs that taste like fish

I asked my girlfriend to google it and evidently Somebody is feeding "stuff" to chickens, so that they lay healthier eggs. The result is a fishy aftertaste. Well I don't like the taste and we only have about 6 packages each of these scrambled eggs. I hate to toss them out but I don't want to eat them either.

I had never heard of such a thing.
Any ideas on how to counteract or hide the flavor?
Pass the tartar sauce please.
Thank you

The healthiest eggs are the ones you don't eat. Maybe that's the idea: If they taste too foul to eat, they sure won't clog your arteries.

Packages of scrambled eggs???
That alone sounds fishy to me.
Of all the things to make for breakfast the hardest one to mess up is scrambled eggs, well unless you burn them.

Chickens can be fed fish meal due to its high 60 some percent protein content. Not sure if that is what your problem is but the thought of feeding my chickens fish grosses me out.

Packaged eggs what the heck is that>> I gave on eating stuff like that when I got out of the Navy and I eat real eggs as in not more then maybe a week old and that is an old one. I eat real food not stuff out of a box. Or at least not stuff out of a box like eggs

Eggs will take on any strong flavor of the food the chicken eats. (You do know where the egg comes out of right?). Fish meal that has gone rancid will do that. The omega fatty acids that are popular right now primarily are of fish origin. Not a stretch to think some overly aromatic fish meal got used in the feed. A large portion of commercial poultry feed is animal based, chickens are meat eaters. Some people like hot sauce on their eggs.

What are you cooking them in? (horrible sentence structure....ugh). I had a session not too long ago with some butter I accidentally left out. It made the eggs taste rancid. Threw out a whole package of high omega, barn yard eggs, you know the ones that sell for just under 4 bucks, thinking they were rotten. What was rotten was the butter I was using as a cooking oil. Fresh stick and no more rotten taste.

It doesn't just have to be chickens. About a year ago, a local small town had a money-making event to raise money for the volunteer fire department. They had a pork burger feed. Several of the small, local pork producers donated some hogs so that they could make the pork burgers. Turns out that one of the local pork producers had found one heck of a deal on fish meal. This was actually fish food that was made from fish byproducts. It was so cheap that he was giving it to his feeder pigs instead of giving them regular swine feed. Several of the people who had bought a meal took one bite of the pork burgers and wouldn't eat any more because they tasted like fish. I've got a co-worker who was at the event who verified this.

Ruby's Pantry is an organization that distributes donated, surplus, outdated food. They sell a share for a set price and you get a portion of everything that they have that month. The money collected goes back into the origination to help more people. What you get, is whatever they have. The more shares they sell, the more people they can help. So it isn't just a food pantry, with food for the poor.

But I still hate to throw them out.

Apparently you "are what you eat"...lol. It might be worse if it was scramble fish that taste like eggs :)

On the sub USSBN633 we had sort of fresh eggs for about 45 or so day then powdered eggs. On the JFK CVA67 well we got sort of fresh eggs every time we did a refuel. So on the JFK we ate pretty good for being on a ship. If I where to compare that food to what I eat now I would say what I have in the navy was dog food

So, do you bark a lot?

(quoted from post at 20:49:21 08/06/15) I think that comment is uncalled for and to make to to a former Navy man it is shameful

Sorry, Old - really. Didn't mean it that way at all. My apologies.

Well the way your worded it and no LOL etc it came off as being disrespectful to those who did there part and signed a blank check to this nation. What I ate when I was in the navy compared to what i eat now was flat out bad food. I know many others who have signed that same check ate far worse then I did but to ask if we or I barked like a dog well that is cold

Old. You have made your choices and you have your history and I mine. Each of us is different. To be honest, at one point in my life I would not have respected your choices, but as I get older I realize that our histories are different and those differences are what lead us to our choices in life, As a result I harbor no dis-respect for you or anything you have chosen to do.

I read a lot of your posts here and find them thoughtful and level-headed (for the most part :) ).

Hopefully, if we ever meet in person, there would be no grudges bared.

Respectfully,

What? You mean they didn't keep some laying chickens on that submarine?

Haha. I heard of one having a pet cat...but no chickens. :?

I had fairly good food all my four years in the Navy. The only time I had not so good food, was on a sea plane tender. The in Cam Ranh Bay. That was only for a month. Then it was back to the chow halls. Call me any thing you want, just don't call me late for dinner. Stan

Have company over and have eggs....with fish. Problem solved? (insert humor here) Havent a clue what to tell you.

Folks left my brother & I home to do the fall plowing while they went on a trip. One day we had fried eggs and baked beans for lunch. It was a good thing we were out in the open air the rest of the day. Never tried that combination again!

Might as well wash 'em down with some milk from cows that have grazed on some French Weed!

Well at least he didn't call you a bubble head LOL.I always heard the subs had the best food in the fleet. Were you Blue or Gold.

EN3 Billy J Shafer USS Saratoga CVA 60 1968 to 1972. West Pac.

Packaged scrambled eggs? Is this one of those items that you can start eating them and read the ingredients at the same time, and have them ate before you get done reading? I wouldn't eat them!

Neighbor's chickens follows his cows. The eggs look very dark, like cow poo. I refuse to
eat them.

lol..beat me to it Alan.
Cook em as a side dish with a piece of fish as the main course.

or...cook em up as a egg sandwich...cooked with onions, garlic, peppers, etc....lather generously with Franks red hot sauce.
Put enough hot sauce on and you could probably eat dogdoo.

or...totally ignore your tastebuds in life..it's all fuel for the machine. If it's not poison or spoiled or rotten...down it goes.
side benefit...food bill will go down and be able to see belt buckle and toes :)

Wild onions around here in the spring. When you mow 'em they smell real good, make you hungry. But in the milk? Naw.

Bubble head or squid are both a name a sub mariner is proud to be called. When I was on the USSBN633 I was blue crew but found I could not handle being under water for 90 day not knowing if the world was still there or not.
If I remember right I had to fix the flight deck communication system on the Saratogo that is if it was a med run carrier or maybe it was the Kitty Hawk. That was a long time ago

I use eggs when I batter fish up to fry.

Or mix in a little soy sauce fry them up thin and slice them into strips for a batch of Chinese fried rice.
