Second set of tubes are leaking

I posted in JayinNY message about his flat tire. First 2-70 now the 1650 has tubes leaking fluid. The tires and tubes on it are only 1 year old!Same business. I didn't discover it until they were closed yesterday.

I had rear tires put on the 4020 a month ago. It's been back for a flat already. First flat I ever remember on it. Tire guy said he couldn't find anything - there was just a hole in the sidewall. Not in the tire, just the tube.

I had the tire repair shop put 2 new tires and tubes on a tractor I am restoring. One was flat the next day and the tire shop sent a repair man to fix it and he was gone when I got home but the tire was flat the next morning. Called them back and the repair man pulled the tube out and found that a seam in the tube was coming apart and he had to replace it. The tire shop tried to charge me for a service call but changed their mind after I threatened to take my business elsewhere. The label on the tube said it was made in the USA but I have my doubts.

Are the tubes made in China? I prefer to cement new valves and patches on 40 year old USA made tubes than use brand new Chinese tubes.

Hi
I now refuse to use cheap made in China tubes and so does our local tire shop. those cheap tubes nearly bankrupt them on free fixes and lost business due to unhappy customers. They put one of those tubes in our Valtra rear with fluid it started leaking after 2 months, so i repaired it then and twice more. the last time it ripped the valve off. Bye bye made in China $200 later and A proper thick rubber klieber tube no more problems. The China tubes Don't like - 30 oc weather either the cold kills them to.

I also used 2 made in China tubes in a pair of fordson rims when I put the rims and tires on a project tractor I bought. I know for a fact that tractors driven less than 300ft. Put wheels on got it started, and drove it where it sits now one of those is gradually going down as it sits. I know its not the valve or pinched tube or anything like that. I don't like doing tires for the fun and make sure it's right the first time.

Most stick on patches and valves aren't much good now either or this non flamable glue in some cases, some patches won't stick to the tubes.A buddy had the tire shop short him on fitting a new tube with a fluid filled tire. 3 days after they repaired it, it ripped the stick on stem off. And they got caught cheating him as he was there when they pulled it apart, they billed him a new tube the first time!.

The tubes are made in Korea. The first set leaked in a seam. Actually seaped. I haven't had the others looked at yet. They told me there was nothing they could do about the first ones. I am trying to figure out how to handle it.

Cheap tubes are a major issue. Even if you find US made tubes they are still thinner than the ones of years ago. I have a JD 4010 that I put new tires on 4 years ago. The right rear has leaked since day one. I mounted them myself and used good tubes. It is not loaded and I have had it off twice myself and had the local tire guy check it also. We have completely submerged the tube in water and there were ZERO air bubbles. I finally replace that tube with another one and it still slowly leaks down. It will leak down to around 5 PSI and quit leaking. So I just keep it parked near the air compressor for now.

Hi Cheap tubes are the same whether it's china or Korea, You shouldn't have to figure it out. Maybe they will when they have so many comebacks with junk tubes Like my local "Good" guys did, and you have already had one set of problems, I bet they won't tell you but your not the first tubes they have had issues with!!!!!!!!!!!. He told me if my tube had gone in the Valtra before the couple months they would of fixed it, free of charge with the good tube. Mine was the last and longest lasting fitted before they realized the problems they had and stopped fitting junk tubes.

In the previous post I think I mentioned that the ones I had fixed this week were almost 4 years old. Still I think that is too soon for them to fail. The set that's leaking now it just over a year old. I asked the changer guy if he has seen this before. Oh Yeah, all the time. He's been called back out before he can even get back to the store with flats or leaks. Some a day, some a month others longer. He said it's cheap tubes. And tractors that have the step down rims are the worst. If the rims are flat from the bead over it doesn't seem to be such a problem.
