What I learned today

And if they come in connected together strips, break them apart. If the end that separates is marked, make sure it is easy to open. if not clearly marked, mark them!! Jim

Also, it doesn't hurt to have some in the shed. If you let it go a little long and then go to the house for a band aid you end up getting caught. You then get screamed at about how it looks like you cut off your finger or were in an Indian massacre. You have to go through the whole process of cleaning it up and all. It takes 30 minutes for you to satisfy SWMBO. You are lucky to make it out of the house without 14 bandages, Mercurichrome stains to the elbow, and triple antibiotic smeared on every piece of gauze available. It's a whole process over one finger mashed to bits.

Like I said, the shop is easier. If your hand isn't too greasy the bandage will stick the rest of the day and by night it won't look like a self-inflicted lobotomy. I've learned.

I decided several years ago that a box of Bandaids and spray bottle of hydrogen peroxide were good items to have in shop.

Also learned that a big fire extinguisher is good to have. Welding a neighbors tractor and lit some leaked out oil about a foot below where I was welding. It was covered with dust and did not realize it was oil till flames started rising.

Lesson #1; When welding on your tractor, don't use the oldest greasiest shop rags right below you as spark shields....
Lesson #2; You cannot see flames thru your welding lens.

That reminds me I have to restock my oops stash(bandage kit) at work. I have a bandaids, peroxide, and some gauze/tape...ect in a drawer for cuts to minor bothering the "nurse" to unlock the first aid room for.

Oh Dear Lord! That Mercurochrome stuff would burn like the fires of he**! When we were kids, that stuff would go on a stumped toe or skinned knee or elbow and ooohhhh wweeeeee...let the dancing begin!

(quoted from post at 20:18:00 07/25/15) Electrical tape and a piece of shop rag will work in a pinch. That's what I've heard anyway.

I've heard a piece of paper towel and masking tape will work too.
