Ok... I have tried everything up to to rebuilding this carburator. I can not get this this thing to run right. As suggested I shut the fuel off and just before she dies she runs perfect. It is a
3 cyl gas, there is fire on all plugs. There is no real adjustment screws other than the one on top with the spring. Turning that does nothing. Blows black smoke. I had it apart again
yesterday, float is good. nothing looks bad. Does anyone know where I can find a zenith carburetor that will work?? Even a knock off from china at this point. Not looking to spend a
fortune, just want to see if that is the real problem. Not sure of the year of this blue beast. But the serial # is. C1491226J7. Thanks for the help!!

Are all the original fuel lines still connected and is the original fuel pump still on the front of the engine?
Is it a Holly or a Zenith?
If it's a Holley, toss it in the trash and buy a Zenith.
They sell them here on this site.

"As suggested I shut the fuel off and just before she dies she runs perfect."

Float is sticking, set too high, float is dragging on the gasket and not raising up, needle is not seating off tight, float has a hole in it taking fuel on and sinking, etc
The carb is basically good you have to figure out why the gas level is too high causing the engine to run rich
good luck

It is a zenith, but no model number, Not sure where the fuel pump is but she works well. I took the glass bulb of and turned it over to see if I had the gas shut off and she shot out doing that. I guess I will need to find a rebuild kit. I checked the float and she does not sink Does anyone have any idea where to find a schematic of a zenith carburetor?? I'm not even sure all the parts are in it.

Just ordered a new one from this website. Just don't have the time to waste anymore with hay drying in the field. Thanks for all your help Team!!

Did the same thing last year on the 4500 backhoe.....starts in 2 seconds now, and runs perfect. Fuel system is extra complicated....take the hood off and you"ll find the fuel line crosses over the engine and the pump is on the opposite side! Zenith carb works great. Had the Holley before.
