To say it's been wet this spring/summer here is an under statement. Have 5 homes to put lawns in for and more soil work from mid spring. Finally decided it was time to buy a set of tracks. Always wanted a pair. Have ran many tracked skid steers, just didn't think I had the work to pay for a fancy one. Steel tracks would work for me, my guys would scratch someone's street or concrete. Bought a pair from Prowler here in Indiana. Have rubber bolt on pads. If you wondered about Prowler, they are working great so far and they have great communication. Ordered them 2pm last Wednesday, they were delivered the next day and we had them sized and on in bare lawn by 3pm Thursday. I really like my skid steer in the picture, been great to me. Looking for a 175 with two speed and a cab for winter time push box duties though. BTW, this place in the picture was very wet, it doesn't look too bad but it took a trip with a disc to cut up some old weeds/grass and then 3 more passes with a scarifier and skid steer to dry out the top to get it to work down. Needed the tracks to dig out in the back for a base for a new paver patio too. Couldn't have done it with tires I think. Finally hydroseeded it then, scratch one off!

Tracks make it a whole new machine....I had the Loegering 10 inch steel tracks on a Gehl 4625, now same brand on newer Gehl with 12 inch tire. Cleared a dozen acres of peat ground with brush/rock/trees a few years ago, now a beautiful field. Amazing how they float over, but surprised how worthless they are in snow- too much sliding. Front tire chains work better there.

Lots of different designs available- I like the Loegerings because they adjust every pad, cover over more of the tire, so nice in demo work or fence line clearing, where they may get stabbed. Looking for a brush cutter, and the tracks will go on for tire protection when in the woods. They do generate more dust though, compared to tires only. So off for spring rock picking, since I don"t use the door except in winter.
