Really cool!

Pssst - one always has to take 3 or 15... because you can delude yourself into thinking you will delete
the poor quality ones from your computer. That is until you get about 3 years behind in working through
photo files. LOL

Never seen a gas station in a setting such as that, (back off the street,) but that is cool! I would just have to have gone inside and asked for the owner to get the history behind that one! (Besides they generally sell drinks at places like that) LOL. Thanks for posting that, Larry. Very neat old "woody".

Drinks!

You talking about a bag of salted peanuts dumped into a Coke in a 6oz returnable bottle?

Or a Nehi Grape and a moon pie?

Or a RC Cola and a peanut patty?

I like and miss seeing those old style gas stations with pumps out front, and a couple of service bays, maybe a car being worked outside, too! There is one in my county like that on Rt. 10,run by a father and son.It sits by itself,in front of the family farm, and next to a church.
Today I drove thru Mt.Olivet and there is one there, too, just before about the only intersection in town. There is old time charm to them,I think,an era that has gone away, when they were on all the street corners.Things were simpler then, and cars easier to fix. That's where you bought gas,and food came from the grocery!Mark

(quoted from post at 19:20:20 07/13/15) whats a moon pie?Dont think we have them in nj,,,be hard to find a RC cola too,,,grape nehi, maybe,,,but mostly coke and pepsi in nj

IIRC some time ago, in a blind taste test of numerous colas, including Coke and Pepsi, RC won hands down.

Steve, for an answer just put "all of the above"! An old country boy like myself ain't that hard to please. Actually, it always depends on the mood as to what I choose in a situation like that, sometimes it may be coke and peanuts, sometimes RC and Moon Pie, etc.

A moon pie or MoonPie[1] is a confection, popular in parts of the United States, which consists of two round graham cracker cookies, with marshmallow filling in the center, dipped in a flavored coating. The snack is often associated with the cuisine of the American South where they are traditionally accompanied by an RC Cola. Today, MoonPies are made by the Chattanooga Bakery in Chattanooga, TN.

Larry, while I was away from my computer, I see that someone enlightened you concerning Moon Pies. I kinda feel for the poor underprivileged folk who were deprived of such delicacies in their childhood. I suppose you have never had a GooGoo cluster either. (Please don't takes these remarks seriously, I'm just having a little fun.) One can Google Moon Pie, GooGoo clusters, RC Cola, etc. and find some interesting history concerning same. I guess some would call it trivia, but I enjoy learning the history of various foods, drinks, etc. that have been around for years.
