OY--eBay seller

I bought a small tractor part off eBay, with agreement that I could return.
A full refund was given to me and seller said to just keep it.
He contacted me later and asked if I would return.
Shipping would only be a few dollars.
Is it possible for him to contact shipper and arrange for pickup at my home and pay postage when he receives it?

I would be very happy to pay the return shipping. Especially when the costs of any transaction like COD for shipping probably costs 3X what the shipping costs.

That's kinda gutsy ain't it? You're the one that backed out of the deal and you want him to pay the return shipping? Good Gawd man.

If you can't swing , I'll send you three dollars. I'll have to scrimp and save but I think I can do it.

I think all you people need to read my post again. I asked a simple question about shipping--Not that I refuse to pay a few bucks myself. He has offered to send me shipping money.
With my disability, it is difficult for me to ship anything or go out and buy something.

If he is willing to send you shipping money, you might want to do him the favor of not sticking him for COD shipping. If he is going to electronically send you the funds, just box up the part, measure the 3 dimentions and weigh it and any shipping company can tell you what that will cost. He can then just pay you and you send it off.

If he is going to snail mail you, ask him if he can just print off a shipping lable, using the box size and weight he print the proper postage and throw the lable in an envelope for you.

Using either of the above will cover shipping easily and cheaply and you can even contact shippers to pick up at your house.

Dont make it harder than what it is or he is just going to tell you to stuff it again....

Thank you--good answer---just what I asked for.

I would think that there are a few options here...

If it will fit in a flat rate box, you could do that and the postal carrier will pick it up at your door.

If it is packaged and labeled correctly, UPS will come to your door to pick it up.

Sending it "postage due" may be a bit more difficult, but there are third party shippers that can send packages "collect."

Overall, I am surprised at the hostile answers you have received on this forum. Not at all in keeping with the spirit of the forum. As I see it we are here to HELP each other, not criticize, call names, and chastise.

Yes, it really surprised me to. Like someone willing to send me money!
I shrug most of these responses off, realizing some people are too quick to make a "cute" response.
Never the less--This is still my number one forum! And I appreciate answers like yours.
Might be that I don't use the correct wording, or not enough detail??

Allan, I'm a little surprised at your response, not quite like you.
He indicated he bought something, with right to return it, and Seller refunded his money and told him to keep it.
No reason stated on why refund asked for - -wrong part? wrong condition? Didn't fit?
We don't know, and IMO, we don't have right to ask, - - but we don't have all the facts to jump to a conclusion and rake him over the coals, do we?

Just wondered if you were OK.

John

The correct answer is, yes shipping companies will pick up at your door using what is sometimes called a "call tag". A ups account can send the request in the shipping software. It is more costly to do it this way. I made the label for the box, then sent it to the shipping location via mail. But any of the carriers will do this for you.

Now Here is the only "hostility" in this thread! I saw no chastising, name calling, until this reponse. Maybe a couple of very mild rebukes, an offer of money, an observation of a way of looking at
it. Wilson Ind may not have been nice, but it looks like JMG is trying hard to get a classification.

So, what do you call it when somebody posts that "how cheap can you get" and implying that the OP is lazy, and one even offering to send him the $3 if he can't afford it (sarcasm perhaps, eh??).

Call it what you like, but I see it as hostile when remarks like that are made.
