Wildfire smoke update

I just got back from a waterfront property that I manage. It is in a fairly sheltered small bay off a larger bay. The entire surface of the small bay is covered in ash, and the larger bay has swaths of the stuff on it. The car was covered in 15 mins. This stuff is coming from approx. 150 kms. away. The sun is just an orange glow. Air quality = poor. Local fire has spread to 85 Ha, but is 40% contained. P.S., you folks in the east are getting someone else's smoke !

It has been overcast in Iowa due to the smoke, almost impossible to get hay to dry.

It's been hanging over us here in Michigan for a few days now. Might be a good thing. Hot as it was today,it probably would have been worse with full sun.

Good thing I bought a tedder this year. Would have never got hay dry this week. If it does dry on top it stays green on the bottom.

1 hr. north of Minneapolis, visibility at 3 miles and you can smell the smoke.

Here in SE MN once the rain cleared out this afternoon you could see the haze and smell the smoke.
