A tribute to Americans ,our neighbours

Happy July 4 to our American neighbours! I, like many Canadians, are proud of our relationship with you, very few countries in the world have such amicable ties with other nations. I am reminded of a tribute written some 40 years ago by a Canadian broadcaster, Gordon Sinclair. It was recored and produced in several versions in the early 70's. While dated, much of it is still true today. Every American should listen to it and maybe give yourself a well desreved pat on the back.

Google Gordon Sinclair's "The Americans" Take 5 minutes and enjoy.

Thanks, and the feeling is mutual. There's really not enough difference between Canada and the U.S. and Canadians and Americans to amount to anything. I would like to see our border more open though like the borders in the EU.

Thanks Ben I had never seen that before. Its always good to know that the sacrifices of others are recognized by decent people no matter where they live. Lee

It's always great to have good neighbors to the north that we can count on when the chips are down, and be like family even with petty political piques. Canada is a breath of fresh air in my day. With all of the troubles in DC, even in Ottawa, most of the people still see eye-to-eye and get through the daily BS to heist a cold one to each other at the end of the day. That's refreshing in today's world.....

I would like to see them open that boarder as well, was in Canada a few times several years ago. Will never be again as getting too old and not going to get a passport to do it.

Happy July 4 to our American neighbours.....I for one am thank full and glad to have the USA as our neighbour, friend, and allies!

A few years ago my family was visiting Banff on Canada day. My son was given a Canadian Flag and proceeded to wave it all along the street pronouncing Happy Canada Day to all. Being born in Havre MT, we visited Medicine Hat as often as Great Falls. Thanks for the thoughts. May the relationship flourish. Jim, In MN

Without Canada there would be no NHL. Then all the greats from Geofrion to Gretzky could not have retired as NEW YORK RANGERS! Hail Canada and skating !

The good relationship between the US and Canada has been and will continue to be a great asset to both countries. Both nations are better off. Now if we could get the same relationship with the country SOUTH of us we would be even better.
