Perry bale handler

The handler is always parallel to the ground. See the red coloured steel upright on the loader sub frame next to the driver. A steel cable runs from this to the bracket on the handler.

The side frames are held wide open by the 2 springs behind the central frame in front of the hydraulic ram.

When the ram is used it closes the 2 side frames to squeeze the frames together to grip the bales. When the pressure is taken off the ram, the springs pull the side frames back open.

Note the front edges of the side frames are tapered.

This machine developed by a small company called Perry in England. They sold 1000's of these - eventually they were taken over by Parmitter a large implement manufacturer.

This system became obsolete when the flat 8 system was introduced by Farmhand. Its rare to see a Perry in use to-day.
