Building A Wind Turbine

We don't need anymore of those giant fans. Electric bills are 4 times than they should be now....neighbours to the south and east love the cheap hydro we pay them to take as it is.

So you cant burn coal and more pipe lines for natural gas where are you going to get your power. Heaven forbid cant build a damn so just mite as well use the wind it all costs money and we need more electricity all the time whats your plan.

I went by the ones up this way one day and there was a guy on top of the powerhead walking. He looked the size of an ant. There is another vid on a german site that shows them taking the towers down to replace them. It said they were 11 years old and were taken out of service because parts were no longer made for them. They came down in about 30 seconds

Our electric rate is 2/3 of what Alliant and the Co-ops charge. Yes, I buy from Mid-American. Facebook is now building three huge server farms here in Iowa primarily because they will be powered by wind energy. Giant fan? No, it's the future.

Can't build any more dams here . The enviromentalists get all upset. The wholesale price of power is so low there is no way to pay for the Hydro Electric Site. The natives claim every d a m site is on ancient burial grounds. Only way they will allow building to is pay them an outragous revenue share . Hydro electric sites often site idle during summer drought and winter freeze up. They produce spribg and fall when power demand is the lowest.

Wind turbines here in a prime location run an unusually high capacity factor of 38%. Where is the power sourced from when the wind is not blowing and the sun is not peaked 9:00am to 3:00PM on clear days ?

The folks who have wind or solar power are some brave souls. They put up with cold showers, cold food, darkness, noisy gasoline generators, and the smell of propane for cooking and heating. Must be fun though -- kind of like camping in your own house. And if they have windmills they're probably staying healthy eating all of that fresh bird meat, provided they pick them up not long after they're knocked out by the blades. lol.

Nuclear is far more efficient than either wind or solar. Eventually, all of those huge whirly monsters will be coming back down, and it will be the taxpayers footing the bill.

Actually, it is the taxpayers who are paying for those things to go up. Can we say "subsidies"?
