What is the consensus of people who post here concerning Riverview LLP dairy operations in MN??

Don't recall ever seeing a post by Riverview LLP Dairy. But then again at my age I don't remember what I had for breakfast.

What is your concern? I don't like BTO operations but it is fairly unavoidable nowadays in livestock enterprises. There is a whole group of farmers who milk cows now but were not around for the rough 1980's and 1990's. I hear the talk about how the guys who milked before 1995 must have not known what they were doing so that is why they went out of business. I think there are a bunch of smaller dairy farmers who are about to take it on the chin that had never really seen rough times before.

What is the issue? There are still a few small dairy farms around here but the price they are receiving is only a few dollars more per hundred weight than I was getting in 1994 when I quit. I milk nights for a neighbor and they are going organic to try and get a little more money.
