Family member finally cleaning the back corner of their drive-in basement garage in a house they bought several years ago and found a Army green sack with a pair of new tire chains. Bag says American Chain Division of the American Chain and Cable Company Inc. of York, PA. Type RP, one pair 6.00-17, 6.50-16, 7.60-15 Weed America Bar Reinforced Tire Chains. Sack still in pretty good shape yet.
Considering those tire sizes, I think that must be from the 1940-50's, what time period would you think they would be from? Thanks. IaLeo

York is about 33 miles north of me , used to go by the

ac&c plant most every day when I was in college.

There was also the Wright hoist division ,of which

I have one hanging on my bridge crane.

Those sizes were used a lot later than that and would fit my 2000 Dodge Dakota if it had the factory size tires on it that when I have to buy tires I will go back to.

York is where the M88 Recovery Vehicles were built about an hour from me. I bought a set of chains advertised in the Baltimore paper for $9.00. They were never used. I had to cut the length so they would fit my garden tractor.
They also had the V bars. We tested those M88's running drawbar pull on them. We also tested the M1 Abrams. This was the pilot model in the picture. Chrysler won the contract with the turbine engine. General Motors also built a pilot model. Hal
