Tweaked Spokes

Anybody have any ideas on how to straighten these bent spokes? And how to make sure the wheel is true again? There are several that are bent on each wheel.

Thanks,
Robert

How far 'out' is it? A bit of wobble,or bounce/hop?May be best to leave as is. Each bent spoke is probably stretched as it
bent. You will probably do more harm than good by attempting to straighten. If you must try...lay the wheel flat and use a 'BFH' on
the bent spokes.Applying some heat may help.

I have straighten them before. Heat the spoke at the bend. then take a big hammer and pound it straight with several strikes. Using several strikes makes the spoke bend and not break. To check for how straight the spoke is just use a piece of flat steel as a straight edge.

To check for wobble. Take two pieces of light flat steel. Use them as a gauge form the center hub to the inside of the rim. Use a couple of pairs of vise crips to clamp your steel at the length you want it to be.

Can you explain "to check for wobble" again? Thanks.

Just lay the rim down and give them a couple licks with a large hammer. I would use a LARGE punch to
make it easier. I keep some pieces of old shaft around for this. You could even grind a wedge in one end
to make the punch catch the spoke. Be careful with heat because if you get it too hot the spoke will
shrink when it cools and be too short. I would bend it back cold, then if it's stretched and deforming
the rim use heat to shrink it back to where it should be.
