Here's the view from the flight pattern into OFFUTT AIR FORCE BASE ,

Bellevue, NE, just south of Omaha ..

Thought you guys might like this
This is what our servicemen see when landing at Offutt AFB.

Hat tip to the Bellevue farmer, Chris Shotton, who made it happen!
Thank You

My cousin and I went into a saddle shop in Omaha; the old guy only made custom saddles to order. Old guy said that he had made a custom saddle for "Colonel Lemay" - who by that time was a General. Cousin had been in the Air Force; he got a chuckle out of that.

Thanks for posting; I was especially happy to see the photo from the 19th century with the Cavalry and their musicians on the left side of the picture. I have been researching military bands of that era for over 40 years and this is a new photo to me.

That used to be SAC (Strategic Air Command) Headquarters. May still be. The aircraft are modified KC 135 Tankers, KC-135 and derivatives having been flown for over 60 years, the most popular air refueler in the world, participated in every battle we have been in including allies since delivery to the USAF, modeled after the Boeing 707 initially which got it's basic design from the B-47. The planes pictured are Pave Paws modified and are intelligence gathering devices to help us stay alert as to what other potential adversaries are doing in the way of radio/microwave transmissions...help us develop effective countermeasures and keep our boys and girls safe.

Wikipedia has plenty of information if interested, just Google KC or RC 135. Funny. I just completed a 1/72 scale of the KC-135A last night. Gorgeous airplane. Soooooooo sleek.
