Due to falling church & chapel attendances in recent years, many small churches have ceased to be used for services.

Some have been sold off by the Church Commissioners and are being converted into homes.

Many small churches in West Wales were built with this style of watch tower. The Norman rulers {English} could keep a watch out for marauding Welsh in the Middle Ages.
 

Nice old church --glar to hear them some of them turning into housing --that's the same trend up here in Northern Ont. --companies are purchasing them cheap and converting them into appartments .

Hey Wizzo , my family is from small town all Laytonbuzzard just northeast of London . I have never been there but it's on my bucket list -- have you ever been to this place .

With a little modification and with such high ceilings,
they would make nice storage place for small
square bales!
 
Back then, they built them to last, didn't they? I surely do enjoy your posts and all the information. It is liken to a history and geography lesson in one.
