Does anyone know if there is a screen before the hyd. pump on a model 500? Noisy whine & changing filter doesn't help.
 
My 444 is similar. There's no screen I've seen tearing the pump down. You probably have an air leak in a hose connection or a collapsed hose. That's what mine seems to have. It's not a lot of hose to replace, (2), but it's getting the right stuff that seems a problem. It's a hydraulic type hose, but rather thin walled.
