Pump buildup in pressure washer

Anyone got a good method for removing lime scale deposits from the pump of a pressure washer? The water is now softened, hasn't been in the past. I was thinking about tilting it up and pouring vinegar in while I slowly turned it over. Not sure how effective that would be though.

Muriatic acid would probably work well, run some through it, leave it sit awhile, run it again, over and over. Not sure of the concentration to use, I don't think what you buy at local retailers is very strong, but it sure cleans out sprinkler system intake screen.

Does ng. mean no good? I just had my wife bring some home from wal-mart, figured I'd start with that. Thanks for the suggestions.
