3930 new holland fuel pump

have a 1999 3930 new holland, just wondering if turning the fuel pump up would increase power. thanks

If it smokes black under full load now, no. More fuel will just make more smoke on a non turbo diesel. I'd make sure all filters, air and fuel are not the problem first if the power is low.

its a non turbo tractor, and smokes very little under load

You'd have to run the part numbers on it but I think it will require an injector change to get more snort out of it. It is most certainly possible to get about 10 more out of that engine without any real mods as it's just a derated version of the 4630 engine.
What you will need to do is crank up the high idle if it's not already at 2400 or so. That will probably get you a bit more power but no more torque depending on where the high idle is presently set.
