From what all of you had been saying,I thought I might have to take the deed to the farm with me to get twine.
I got ten bales of 16000 sisal for $54.99 a bale. 9000 was out on the floor for $58.99. The last 16000 that I bought last year was $45.99,so compared to the price of beef,I didn't think I was getting beat up to bad. I just looked to see what I paid in 2009 when beef prices were half what they are now,it was $37.99 then.

That's not a bad price. I paid $63.xx at the coop for 10 bales. They said that was all they would get this year. I don't like the plastic but I'll have to use a few boxes this year. It's $29 for 20,000'

Funny you should mention that I just bought two packs today, 9000 sisal was out so I settled for, 7290 $64.99 a pack. I remember 20 years ago I think that stuff was like $23 a bundel?

We've come a long ways since the days my father sold 9,000 ft. bales for $3.75, haven't we? But then he sold anti-freeze out of the barrel into your container in the $1.90 per gallon range, too.

Bought 4 bales of 16000. from the local JD dealer last month for $182.00, stopped at orschlen's yesterday, had tons of it, but no price sign. Asked the manager, he said it was $61.00 a bale. Glad I had 9 bales left from last year.

I remember the year that twine shot up to around $16.00. We chopped a fair amount of it dry that year and fed it loose. We were at the sale in Archbold that spring and they had piles of five all over the yard in various rows. Dad bought five there that year for less than it would have cost at home, but I don't remember anymore what he paid for it. I'm thinking probably something in the neighborhood of twelve.

Bought 7200 poly for $29 at family farm and home a couple weeks ago. Thought it was a good price, so I bought all they had, which was only 6 bales. That'll keep me busy most of the summer though.

JD Seller, bought a pallet of 9600/170 knot $35.00 a box [2 rolls] last week. Local farm supply same twine $43.99 a box.

The plastic can be had for around $36 but 9000 sisal is a solid $20 higher.
