Nice way to end May!

50 degrees and drizzle all day. Had to stop by the farm and pick up my chains and binders so I could go pick up the swather yesterday...one attempt at putting that crazy/hydro/tricycle nightmare on my trailer left me with a few more gray hairs and I was not even the driver! Calling around for a trucker with more trailer tomorrow. Cold and damp enough to burn the rest of the firewood on the porch. Been catching up on desk work all day. Think I'll build a fire and call it a day!

Sounds like you're a day behind on the weather. It rained all day yesterday up here. No rain today, just cold wind. The clearing line just went through and it's sunny now. Naturally,it's getting late in the day.

Loading a swather will sure get exciting at times. LOL I ended up crossways with the wheels on the ground and the trailer under the swather. It took a lot of jacking to get it off.

Dave where is the swather. I could load it on my detach with ease. I have slide out out riggers so could be possibly just driven on. Dave if you're interested 989 413 5684
Been cold and windy all day today. Rained this morning and has since cleared off from the rain. The sky is starting to lighten up some too. Up by Owosso

I was 3/4's done with planting a field of soybeans Friday afternoon, and it sure did look rainy. I thought, if I could just get this field planted before it rains, I'd be all set. Well, before I could finish it up, the deluge started. I parked the tractor, left it idling as I always do before shutting it down, while I RAN to my truck looking for something to throw over the exhaust. All I found was a can of cashews that still had about 2" of cashews left in it from a workday snack in my lunch last week. Naturally, I didn't want good cashews going to waste, so I was dumping them in my mouth trying to eat them all while running the 100 yds back to the tractor, all the while choking on the ones that actuallyade it to my mouth. Got back to the tractor, shut it off, tossed the can over the exhaust and beat feet back to my truck. Which, really didn't matter as I was already thoroughly soaked. Probably looked like a lunatic to the people that live along the front of that field. So cold today I lit a fire in the woodstove, just to take the edge off.

I'm 60 and rain stopped. It was 54 this morning. No air condition for the entire month of May. No we aren't having climate change, no way, no how.

The best way to move a swather is with a transport trail designed for that purpose, much like a transport trailer to move a vehicle. Just drive the swather drive wheels up on the trailer and chain it down, then tow it anywhere you need to go. Brother had one that he made, but he gave it to nephew when he retired.
