maybe you guys got a good suggestion ,so chime in... frieds of mine , are wanting to go to pigeon forge area ,,. they are woodsey country types like most of us ,. wanna take 3 grade school age grankids and have a fire pit and a porch and a jed clampit type cabin .they wanna go NOW for 1 week !!.. I found a nice one for 870 bux but they don't have any open weex till mid july ,, and that seems like a good idea for my sara and me ,,. I wont get relief from work load til then

My only advice is stay down around Gatlinburg or up over the mountain near Cherokee. If you're up around Pigeon Forge or Sevierville, you might as well be on 28th Street in Grand Rapids. I hate that place! Try to have a good time anyway.

Pigeon Forge and Sevierville are not bad in the middle of week but weekends are a pain in the neck to many people and they always have something special going on during the weekends. Cherokee has change a lot from what it was like in the late 70s. We went there over a year ago and there is nothing left of the town. The big thing there now is the casino.

Tell them to give Chip Flohe a call.

He has some cabins away from the tourist trap areas. I've never been in them but I expect they're more in line with what your friends want than the high end "cabins" near Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.
