darn craigslist

So I normally just browse Craig's list looking for anything that catches my eye. I have been kind of looking for a replacement manure spreader for our 790 NH as the box is getting really bad. So I happen to find a 791this week for a $1000 that is in good shape so I am driving the hour and a half to get that tomorrow. Then I found a grinder mixer for parts that had a good working scale on it for $250 and was going to get that this weekend but a guy beat me there as I couldn't get off work Wednesday which was fine as the grinder is a Gehl and I have a Farmhand but the scale should of interchanged. So tonight I find a small bulk bin that I have been looking for for the last 7 months and its on the way home when I have the spreader to haul it so I am picking that up tomorrow too. The wife might not be too happy with me when I roll in tomorrow with my treasures but a lighter check book. She should be happy I am only making 1 trip though. So since I am still looking for a scale for my FarmHand 830 grinder does anybody have a grinder they don't use or a parts grinder that they would sell the scale off of.

For all the complaints about CL its a great way for folks that want parts, equipment, tractors etc to meet up with those that want to sell the same.I found some real deals on CL and most have been real good to deal with.

Ya,I came across a shank for my chisel plow the other day. I broke one last week. I just happened to see an ad for a 7 shank and it said he had an 8th shank for it. I shot him a quick email and asked of he'd sell just that eighth shank. He said he would,so I went and got it. Only about 20 miles from home to boot.

Craigslist has been full of scams and craigslist is changing it's format for posting
ads. I've bought and sold many things from craigslist. I've only had 2 bad experiences.
I posted a want ad and woman sent me pics of themselves, only wearing shoes, wanting to
do unspeakable things to me. The bad part was after 2 months they stopped.

Recently I placed another want ad and some idiot wanted to know if I would take a check.

The pics left nothing to the imagination. After they stopped, I placed the same want ad and no luck. I think the pics must have been photo shopped.

Craigslist Good and Bad.
Ad reads:
Hay square bales Orchard Grass , 50lb bales, stored inside, 300 bales for sale, $4/bale, located in XYZtown, State

Good: fast and inexpensive way to reach a large audience. I have good luck selling stuff.

Bad: People can not read, and have no respect for your time.
1st question...what kind of hay is it?
2nd question...how much is it?
3rd question...how many bales do you have?
4th question...where are you located?

It has not happened once...but at least 20 times...are people too lazy to read?
2 other bads....after playing 20 questions for 15 minutes...they say "well I may call you back if we are not busy this weekend". Or.. when they do show up they forgot to bring a rope to tie it on the pickup.

It's a mixed experience. I had my motorcycle on, and a guy called me the other day asked to see it. 2 hours later he showed up, we went for a ride, he paid in cash, we transfered titled, and parted ways. Easiest experience ever. However the bike had been on craigslist for 6 months and the 15 other "callers" weren't worth their weight in salt.

The ones that get me the most are the no-show's. "Oh i'm coming, consider it sold." never to show up. They are time wasters to the nth degree.

I have had pretty good luck on craiglist, and met some very nice people! I have even taken a few checks, but in that case I have the item until after the check clears.

Yep, same thing here. Looking on craigslist and found an almost new HM235 disc mower for about $2500 less than normal. Please call but no phone number so took a chance and e-mailed . Got a call back about an hour later. Now own a newer mower and met the nicest farmer couple. They are starting to farm again after a 23 year hiatus from farming.

They probably were photo shopped. In real life they were probably 5' tall, 4' around and look like a cross between Cochise and Geronimo! Lol!

What was the want ad for?!?!?! There is more than one definition for certain words.
