HELP!!! I have a late 60s early 70s Pettibone Multihoe Backhoe Model LDF. Not even sure the exact year. I need a tie rod end. Does anyone have any idea where i can find one for this particular machine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Everywhere i have searched i have had no luck. It seems almost impossible to find parts for something this old but she still digs great i need to figure something out. Thanks in advance!!!!

Looks to me like the steering arm snapped off ?

Pull the other half out and go have it welded for now.

Why not look up their parts on line that would be the best waay to find parts there are several places listing parts.

Hi there is a guy called Steve Watroba I follow on youtube. A while ago he had one of these multi hoes he was parting out and doing video's on. Don't know if it was this model, or what he has left . Might be worth contacting him through tube and see if he could help if nobody else can.
Regards Robert

So im confused, did you get the steering arm already and are just looking for a tie rod end, or do you not know what a tie rod end is and think that's the part that broke? the broken piece is a steering arm which if cant find one it could be fabricated or possibly one from a truck modified.

I just sold my 1966 Pettibone "Multihoe" model LDA. Never had any trouble sourcing parts. Either generic stuff from truck-parts dealers or from Pettibone themselves. Mine had a Detroit Diesel 3-53 engine, Allison trans, and air-over-hydraulic brakes.

That was my fault. I don't need the Tie Rod End i do need the Steering Arm. If you have any idea where i can get one please let me know. Thanks.

I had the same problem if you cant' find an old machine you have to make your own out of a piece of chrome moly steel turn the taper to fit in the spindle with the keyway then cut and have it welded to the proper angle then mill flats on it and put the ball joint taper in it all together it cost me $300 price of material and having a cert. welder weld it for me I own my own machine shop so I did all the rest of the work or take the busted piece out of the spindle and have it welded back together it looked like mine was welded 2-3 times before I got it
