It was a General

Last night on Facebook there was a post by Rural Heritage , I believe , anyway they had a picture of a rusty small tractor that caused great debate, guesses were that it was an Oliver, a Long and several other brands. I kept looking at the picture and thinking it looked real familiar and then it dawned on me ... it was a General made by Massey Harris as a sideline smaller tractor. A friend of mine and his father collected Masseys and they had a General they restored and a General that had been stripped, along with some sheet metal for a General. Their restored General was a very nice looking tractor painted entirely yellow, with General decals they had found somewhere...a very nice , rare and sweet looking little tractor..wish I had thought of the name last night and now I can't find the post!

Massey Harris had a General too then? Cletrac made a General. They later became an Avery then the Moline BF was it?

Cletrac built the general for Massey Harris. As far as I know they were sold in Canada, still in Cletrac color, but different decals. They evolved into the BF.

Believe they were also sold through Montgomery Wards. My great-uncle had one, which my uncle now has.

Thanks for that info, all I knew was that Massy dealers often sold Generals with their line of tractors, Cletrack manufactured for MH . The General was a cheaper tractor to purchase.
