What is the estimated weight of brick chips in a bobcat bucket? They tell me it is a 1/2yd bucket.

You could roughly estimate the weight by weighing the chips that fit in a one gallon container and multiply that by the number of gallons in a half cubic yard (101 gallons). The toughest part will be estimating how close you are to actually having 1/2 cubic yard of chips in the bucket (level full, rounded full, or 3 times depth full).

i.e.
If a 1 gallon container filled with chips weights 15 pounds.
- The empty container weights 1/2 pound
The chips in the one gallon container then weight 14 1/2 pounds

101 gallons per 1/2 cubic yard X 14.5 pounds of chips per gallon = 1465 pounds of chips per 1/2 cubic yard.

A regular brick is around 5 1/2 pounds each. Put down several seven wide sidewalks over the years and when you find that a
Brick caddey holds seven bricks on the smallest setting,,, gets kinda heavy after a couple dozen loads!
