We poured the parlor floor and manure push off this week. The parlor install guy's are coming next week so hope to get them milking in it soon.

Yes, crowd gate will be in the center isle and cows will return to freestall on each side of the barn. We still have more concrete to break out because they want the same elevation from freestall to the parlor. They have some really good cows and have been switching cows from the freestall to the tiestall for years. When my neighbors barn burned back in 1989 we brought them over to our farm and switched them from freestall to tiestall for 6 months plus we only had 4 units. Milking was about 4 hours a day and they are doing about the same now!

Is your plan for the manure push off to load into spreader or use the area beneath it for a few days of storage? We built a push off nearly forty years ago. A large pad beneath it holds several months of storage. Occasionally pushed manure directly into spreader but daily spreading was not feasible, so long term storage was the norm.

I grew up on a farm about 8 miles from theirs. About 30 years ago when I was just out of high school I helped put a Jamesway belt conveyor and feeder in the freestall. They don't have it anymore they just use a mixer wagon. Where are you at? Greg
