Is there any good way of testing the quality of gasoline.
I bot a tankful of 0% ethanol and my 720 deere acts like its starved for fuel.

I'm shooting from the hip, I do not know a way of a do it yourself test kit. It would be very expensive anyway. If you buy more gasoline from another station nearby there is a good chance it came from the same refinery.
Does the gasoline in your tractor give any problems in your cars/pickup trucks, etc. If the gasoline performs well there it is a good chance it is a good chance it is a tractor problem.
All customers should be having problems if it is a refinery problem.

Easy to test for ethanol in fuel. Just put some in a clear jar. Add some water. Shake it up and let it set for awhile. IF the water level is lower or completely gone then the gas has alcohol in it.

I hate to tell you but the trouble is more than likely in the tractor. It could be a carburetor issue or ignition one. Ethanol issues are usually more storage related.

If you add more than about 3% water it will strip the alcohol from the gasoline and the water level will be higher than the original amount of water.

Besides , you stated that it was plowing just great and then just quit with 5 gal still in tank. Read my answer in JD section.

Not sure what you mean by your test, JD.

The standard test is to add water to the empty jar first, then mark the level with a grease pencil. THEN you mix in the gasoline and let the gas and water separate. If the level of the water has INCREASED above the line, you have ethanol in the gas. (The ethanol is separating from the gas and mixing with the water.)

I doubt your zero percent ethanol is actually ethanol-free. But I'm even more doubtful that ethanol has anything to do with your problem.

Ok you got the part about gas coming out of the refinery being the same but it can be very different at the pump. The additives and % added at the tank farm varies with each order. And this stuff is strait gas while this has booze in it.

Agreed. Especially after using 3/4 of a tank under heavy pull with no issues and now it won't start.

Actually adding ethanol to gas will add more oxygen, making an engine run leaner. Ethanol free should make it run richer. Think you have a carb issue, or a choked filter, or something restricting the fuel flow.
