Thanks to the previous comments and posts on planting sunflower seeds. I plan to plant 2 acres worth. In preparation for planting I have mowed down the field and applied, Hi Yeild Killsall to burn down the grasses. Was looking on their instructions and cannot find a clear amount of time a guy should wait to plow/disc/ then plant the seed. It has been 5 days since herbicide application and the grass has stopped growing and starting to turn lime green in its preparation to turning brown. When do you all reccommend plowing/discing and planting the seed. Since sunflowers are technically a "weed" I dont want to put them in too soon, but the window of opportunity says to get them in before mothers day. Also it hasnt rained here for over a week or so and I like to plow when the soil is soft.
