Free Tractor for restore if some one wants it

Hey all,

A friend has a old McCormick tractor that has been sitting since his father-n-law passed in 2005. The tractor has been sitting in his barn until last night when we finally moved it out.

His father-n-law got the tractor to restore but passed before he got around to it. We have no history on the tractor but it appears to be complete with good rubber on the back and decent on the front. We did find last night that the engine is not locked.

We talked about it and he will give to to someone if they would like to restore. All you need to do is come load it up and haul it home.

Do not know the model number.

Located about 8-10 miles outside of Liberty Missouri.

Contact me at [email protected] if interested.

We would rather see go to someone here to be restored rather than scrapped. If no replies we will scrap it in the next month or so.

Be advised that you will, no doubt, be inundated with calls form folks promising to restore it but who will quickly scrap it or part it out once in possession.

That is entirely possible. Already had a call from a young man in MN that want a pic as he is wanting to restore one in memory of his Dad.

Even if this is case where someone takes it then decides to part and scrap at least we have given it our best attempt to allow someone to restore it rather than us seeing it go to the scrap heap.

I hate to see something that someone would like to have and possibly restore just go to scrap.

I will try and post a pic or two tomorrow.

I have had a couple of replies so far. This is a first come first gets it.

I think that it might be a better idea to donate it to a local High School
Auto Shop, Ag. School, or FFA group for restoration. Then they could sell or
raffle it off after it was restored, to fund other projects.

Just an idea.

Wish you were closer.

The 4h club's still in the middle of a John Deere B project, but I'd still hate to see one go to the scrap yard.

Tractor is gone.

I met Dachshund last evening and we loaded the old tractor up for him to take home and restore.

It was a Farmall H
